WB:  How to analyze this usage, as developed from the US military context?
No hint of sympathy for Darwinian losers, since there don't seem to be any.
With telephonic detachment, it has connotations of "clinical", clean,
efficient, as the original dispassionate combat usage was supposed to have.
And very importantly, it has a sexy Francophonic end-stressed [-AHzh]. (No
association with "three" choices?)
