As the word-of-the-year silly season comes to its annual climax, I'd like to encourage those of you who are not ADS members to become one.

Individual membership gives you an annual subscription to the quarterly journal American Speech, which includes the “Among the New Words” column, and online access to back issues. Membership also includes an annual Publication of the American Dialect Society volume.
