The High Road and Mass. Ave.

In Hampton, VA, (the oldest continuous English-speaking settlement in America) there still exist a King Street and a Queen Street, major cross streets in downtown. There is no Main Street.

I don't think David Fischer, in "Paul Revere's Ride", calls it "the
Great Highway", and I take him as authoritative.
