Antedating of "hot dog"

Sam Clements found an early mention of "hot dog" in the following quote:
"Even the innocent "wienerworst" man will be barred from dispensing hot

dog on the street corner."
Sam, was this 1884 report due to some kind of municipal ordinance
forbidding sales by street vendors?
