WB: I like to discuss and describe non-standard language forms and usage,
but my metalanguage in so doing must be as punctiliously standard as I can
muster. As I get older, my negative emotive reactions have increased as I
come across language variance from my idiolect. And, as Bloomfield noted,
these reactions also need to be taken into account in describing language
use (Bloomfield’s Tertiary Response).
