1847 _Spirit of the Times_ 6 Feb. 589 (American Periodical Series)  I have seen various accounts in your interesting paper, of a game that is "extensively" played in these diggins, called by the euphonius [sic] name of "_Poker_", but have seen no mention made of a game that has almost superseded the old one, which is known by the name of "Draw Poker."  Draw Poker is generally played with not less than

five nor more than seven persons.
