1843 _Jeffersonian Republican_ (Stroudsburg, Pa.) 14 June (Chronicling
America) A fact, worthy of a place among the chronological events of
Louisiana, is, that the Total Abstinence Society met in a house where, one
year ago, billiards, keno, euchre, poker, and many other gambling games,
were the favorite amusements of the people.
