Reverse graffito/graffiti

1)   On the Harvard campus, outdoor emergency call telephones are
labeled "ASSISTANCE".  I don't need to tell you what single letter is
often effaced.  (Or does this not count because the letter could have
been painted over?)

2)   A sign above Jasper White's "Summer Shack" now reads "Clam
Bake  Fr ed Chicken  Oyster Bar."
