I was somewhat older during the '50's: 13-23. I don't recall who sponsored
the show, but the show itself I recall quite clearly. It was so popular
that it garnered a major write-up in LIFE. It wasn't as popular as the
Texaco Star Theater, but it was major, probably drawing an audience equal
to that of Versatile Varieties. That program was sufficiently popular that
the singing group, The 5th Dimension, was earlier The Versa-Tiles.
BTW, even Howdy Doody Time, not to mention the test-pattern, drew a
viewing-audience older than five.
