TIME and the new island

If by "TIME" you mean "Time," the news-like magazine, it self-dumbified in the early 1990s. Before that, I enjoyed reading the high-quality of their writing, and I recall that they ran an article about how their articles were used in Korea for teaching good English.

My impression is that they self-dumbified to increase circulation. I stopped paying attention shortly after I wrote them and told them how I pined for the quality they had abandoned. AFAIK, the only quality news magazine we have in the, err, US is the "Economist."
