To dress "all in good taste," as though/as when going to (apply for) work,
as opposed to wearing catching-clothes to a social event


The background. A gay black guy is describing going to gay bars with his
fag-hag and finding that she garnered a lot of attention. So, he let it be
known that she was a "transsexual," just for laughs. Because she "dressed
gig" and not flamboyantly sexily, the guys found her especially intriguing,
according to his story.
