"babymoon" (ODO 1990s)

Usenet, 2 March 1995:

[Begin]
think it's great to give yourselves time for a babymoon before
sharing your new little one with all of creation. I love to have my
mother and grandmother come visit; I enjoy them and they're very
helpful. But I don't want anyone those first precious few days of
my new baby's life.

…but I would recommend that you get a copy of Sheila Kitzinger's HOMEBIRTH. ... Kitzinger talks about the importance of a "babymoon" period, where mum and dad just
hang out with the baby.

Wikipedia also credits Kitzinger, but a year later and in another book:

In 1996, the term babymoon was coined in a book "The Year After Childbirth" by childbirth educator and author Sheila Kitzinger.
"The transition to fatherhood is easier when a man can take time off to be with his partner and baby in what I call a 'Babymoon'."

Google Books has two 1979 results in Kitzinger's books. I can't verify them, but she has been writing childbirth books since the 1960s, and other "babymoon" snippets show up in the 1980s too, sometimes in reference to Kitzinger.

I believe that we should create a new institution, the babymoon, equivalent to a honeymoon, for both parents to start the relationship with their new baby.
