moneyballed

On Huffpost today Jonathan Chait wrote "McConnell moneyballed the Senate."
"Moneyballed" gets 2640 raw hits on Google.  The movie title has to do with
buying promising players on the basis of stats research and for relatively
low prices.  Chait's using it more in the sense of "manipulated."
