brassiere (OED 1911)

1909 _Leamington Spa Courier_ 12 Feb. 3/6 (British Newspaper Archive)  Jetted nets are used for entire costumes, but the paillettes are arranged in a new way.  They are almost exclusively set on in band or border designs.  Both dull and polished jet are used, sometimes massed on a brassiere or beautifully fitted belt.
