(1) <neck nominate> from <next + nominate>. Unstressed [nEkst]
cluster-simplified to [nEk'] in the environment of beer. Trying to prise
apart the [k] from the <x> grapheme, and discard the [s], is
orthographically mind-blowing. Hence re-analysis as <neck>; whence <neck &
nominate>.
(2) Try to find a Gael & see if [nEk] has some Celtic association with
alcohol consumption.
