Why British accents in US NEws

Apparently British accents are not sexy,  http://bit.ly/1bXUAiw  and any foreign accent is judged less trustworthy http://bit.ly/1fsffdp,  So why do we hear more British newscaster lately on US TV News?  For less trustworthy news with less sex appeal?
