My nominations are based on several months of Twitter analysis during 2013:

1. thot - short for "that ho over there", used much like ho

2. bae - short for babe

(3. ratchet - a diva)

 * @favibot looked for words matching tweets "[X] is my new favorite word" (and also for "favourite" and "fave" words to get some regional variation) since February 2013.

These nominated words appear to be newly popular in 2013 and widely popular, at least if Twitter is anything to go by. Perhaps "ratchet" may be newly popular in 2012 but it's still widely popular.
