Antedatings of "Population Explosion"

The antedatings below, posted by me on ADS-L in 2004, seem not to have been picked up by the OED revision:


population explosion (OED 1946)

1903 Ivor N. Hume _Here Lies Virginia_ 90  In a town of, three hundred
houses, such a population explosion must have left vivid scars on the
memories of visitors who were not conditioned to such congestion.

1925 C. J. Bartlett _The Foreign Policy of Castlereagh_ 36  In particular
with Castlereagh and others there was this concentration upon an alliance
of property, with insufficient recognition that so many of the landlords
were a prime cause of social and economic discontent, and therefore of
political and general disturbance. Admittedly their role cannot be
isolated from the legacy of the past, the limited resources of Ireland,
and the population explosion.
