Question about value of newspapers.com

I am seeing more citations found through newspapers.com, e.g., in
messages from Fred and the recent message from Bonnie. Previously, I
thought newspapers.com was redundant. Is there any relationship
between newspapers.com and existing major databases?

Is it worthwhile to buy a subscription and regularly search
newspapers.com? Responses will be gladly received on or off-list.
