[Ads-l] Desperate Last Plea for Most Notable Quotations of 2014

Similar issues come up with the Word of the Year selection.  I choose to interpret "notable quotation of 2014" as meaning notable quotation originating in 2014, although I make exceptions for quotes originating too late the previous year to have appeared then, and for quotes that were completely private before the current year.  "Rosencratz and Guildenstern are dead" was not a famous quote until Tom Stoppard popularized it, but I consider that to be a 1601 quote, not a 1967 quote.

I would have thought that the sole factor of time would reflect public
consciousness. Suppose a book is written, and years later a script is
written from the book, and more years later the movie is made, and more
years later the movie is released, and a catchphrase from the movie,
originally in the book, becomes a QOTY candidate. Who cares when the book
was written?
