WB:  For the longest time during my ten years at UCLA, I thought there
was a freeway from Los Angeles to Canada, because of the sign reading
<LA CANADA HIGHWAY>.  But alas, 'twas but a road to <the ravine>
(orig. Rancho La Can~ada, aka La Can~ada Flintridge).
