The British panelist on the episode of "That's Cool, Japan" on kawaii 
playing on TV Japan today suggested "cugly" (cute + ugly) as the 
equivalent of busakawaii. I think he pronounced it with a palatalized "c."

I don't see "cugly" on Wiktionary or the Oxford Dictionary site, but 
Urban Dictionary (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=cugly) 
has it back to 2004.
