The vowels used by the (Canadian) Irish Rovers in -orC words  - unicorn,
born, sort - have struck me as being very similar to those of the (old?)
Saint Louis dialect-island, for the five dekkids or so. Yet, AFAIK, no one
has ever cried Wolof about this.
