[Ads-l] Fine "velvet corks" and bottling

They probably didn't bother with fine velvet -- or any other -- corks on this occasion, but Thomas Morton wrote about May Day at Ma-re Mount that they "brewed a barrell of excellent beare and provided a case of bottles, to be spent, with other good cheare, for all commers of that day" (circa 1627).
So beer in a barrel was "decanted" into bottles. Just as wine imported in large containers was I suggest also decanted into bottles, and corked for preservation. (The May Day beer was surely consumed on the spot.)
