I guess one can "jump angry" as well as "jump salty"?

If this "salty" is similar in sense and use to "angry", then one might 
wonder whether there's any relation to "sultry" (which was often similar 
to "angry", not long ago).

(Not long ago one might encounter e.g. "sultry language" apparently 
roughly interchangeable with "salty language".)
