1958 _Japan Times_ 28 Nov. 8/8 (Japan Times Archives)  A "Yakitori" eatery serves what we commonly call chicken teriyaki or liver teriyaki, in other words, broiled pieces of meat, alternated with pieces of onions speared on small skewers.
