Apparently it was Yogi Bear who died (and whose funeral we should all attend, or else he won't attend ours), according to an AP release this morning:

As this Slate piece explains, Yogi ("Smarter-than-the-average") Bear was indeed named for Yogi Berra, who was named for either a generic or specific yogi.
