[Ads-l] Can you spell "cat"?

When you hear the sound of the "short a" in various words as in the word "cat" it's spelled with the letter "a" over 99% of the time, according to truespel phonetic analysis of word frequency data from text.  Some exceptions are "laugh" ~laf and "plaid" ~plad.   That's why the letter "a" must be used to spell that sound as it is in truespel to be an English-based phonetic notation.
