[Ads-l] "set-top box" -- needs a retronym ... or something else?

Considering that all new TV sets are "flat" and couldn't support a box on top of them, does "set-top (cable) box" need a retronym?  


Or would it be something else?  That is, if the term for today is to be formed by _removal_ of the qualifier "set-top" -- to "cable box" -- and the old/current term is to be left as is -- "set-top (cable) box" -- is the "neologism" a "retronym", or something else?
