And there are many hits for "Doberman pincer" along with the ones for "Doberman pincher". The latter may be a simple respelling but the former may correspond to a pronunciation as ['pInsr] rather than ['pIn(t)Sr]. Apparently the "Pintscher" refers to the pinching/cropping of the ears, not to any actions of the dog, but that's probably been reanalyzed too.
