Another early example in a religious publication - 1914.
The Christian Advocate, Volume 89, February 12, 1914, page (19 in issue) 227 (volume). HathiTrust
Their mental processes were entirely restricted by their falseness of view and the absence of genuineness from their lives. They were like that other man of whom it was said: "When he thinks he thinks, he just rearranges his prejudices."
