     More than likely, the UA flight purser was profiling to target the
least recalcitrant passenger for extreme re-accommodation. (N.b.,
recalcitrant = lit. "dragging one's heels".) The East Asian-looking
gentleman was chosen for the fact that Japanese or Chinese are not a
protected class, and are renowned for their irritating, self-effacing
qualities. He did not look African American or Middle Eastern; not female
(with children or visibly enceinte); and didn't weigh too much.
     This miscalculation  means that a $200 airline ticket will become a
multi-million dollar jackpot, 'cause (as everybody knows) chinks love to
gamble.
