[Ads-l] An unexpected _subject_

Asked by a white, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, sheriff's detective:

"Was there life insurance on him that you were _subject_ to get?"

Ordinary in BE. But, given that I don't have a lot of first-hand experience
with Southern White speech, it could well be that there's nothing special
about such use of _subject_ by a white person.
