That's true. I heard it told and saw it mimed at a 1940's edition of the
Pine Street Y Circus, which was not at all a "circus," but, rather, "a
really big show," the major regional stop on the old chitlin circuit, at
one time such a big deal that it was held in a "white" venue, the Kiel
Municipal Auditorium Opera House
