Both Wiktionary (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/clean <https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/clean>) and the online Oxford Dictionaries (https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/clean <https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/clean>) include a definition for “clean” of being free of unpleasant substances.

Along those lines is the rise of clean agriculture, as can be seen at the page of the Clean Agriculture Development & Food Processing Association (http://www.lao-cso-network.org/cadpa.html <http://www.lao-cso-network.org/cadpa.html>) in Laos, which is trying to get farmers to stop using chemicals that are harmful to the soil.

Maryland (http://www.marylandcleanagriculture.org/ <http://www.marylandcleanagriculture.org/>) is also in on the clean agriculture movement.

It appears this form of agriculture is positioned within market as between organic and run-of-the-mill farming.
