_finally_ pronounced as "finally" instead of as "finely":

"Finally! We had finally heard from the kidnapper."

A use of _nauseated_ instead of _nauseous_:

"A couple of hours after I mistakenly ate the uncooked hamburger, I began
to feel nauseated."

I was quite surprised, since language-change usually moves with the speed
of a home on fire and there's no turning back.
