I'm very familiar with just the second half, from "Old Spice means
quality!", words and music both. It's among the myriad of tunes, songs, and
jingles from the fifties onward (and earlier, at second hand) that have
taken up residence in my brain. Obviously the prices that Wilson quotes
were already obsolete by my time.

Never thought of it with "boatswain", though, always "bosun", as she is
spoke...and, ISTM, usually written.
