Bill Mullins messages always look like this. Sometimes Margaret's and mine do, but other times they don't. I'd love to know what settings will reliably produce plain text, and also not replace some characters with decoded versions:

What behavior are you seeing here? Margaret's initial message came through fine for me on three different mail programs in two different operating systems, and it's fine in the archives:
