Interesting the quoted email from the AMI lawyer, captioning the photos
they have to publish (or not), uses:
*Ms. Sanchez wearing a plunging red neckline dress revealing her cleavage
and a glimpse of her nether region.*
OED says it's usually pluralized, but I suppose as that is because it
generally refers to a person's front and backside
1949 "Blushing to wear patched nether regions, he toured the shops..for a
pair of hard-wearing flannel trousers."
and, in the photo, only one of those could be seen.
