And even though “disperse” isn’t related besides semantically and phonetically, there’s also the bursa (sac), which is something athletes sometimes injure, and indeed “purse” is the same root, both the noun (directly) and the verb (to pucker one’s lips or to deposit something in one’s puckered pocket).  And somehow “pig’s scrotum” is part of the meaning trajectory, the OED informs us.  Nice to know.
