1777 _Public Advertiser_ (London) 21 Feb. 2 (Newspapers.com)  It is remarkable that there have been few general Risings of a People in which a Number of Fortresses and Magazines have not by some Means or other fallen into their Hands.  This very American Revolution brings Proof to the Assertion.  Witness Ticonderoga, St. John's, &c.
