When I was teaching freshman comp (1976-1989),  I saw may, many strange
things (that don't seem so strange anymore...).

Once in a while I found the "lost possessive" in black students theme, but
never, so far as I can recall, in white student's' writing.

They would have clung to the surface of my brain like the "inwhiches,"
s-less "-ist" plurals, and (far rarer) possessive "that'ses."
