[Ads-l] washi tape (2011)

The OED says that “washi” is Japanese paper, specifically, a thin handmade type for making various things.

That can probably be updated to simply being a thin handmade paper since washi is used to write on and as an art medium (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washi <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washi>).

Washi is not found in Merriam-Webster, and the Wiktionary entry should be updated (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/washi <https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/washi>) as I have a neighbor who uses washi for art forms that are not Japanese. 

There are three Google Books hits for 2011 with “washi tape”. None have the expression italicized (well, two are in italics, in which case the italics were not removed for “washi tape”).

Amazon and the internet in general abounds in washi tape. Surely these 2011 examples can be antedated.
