In the Harry Potter series, a horcrux is an object in which a soul fragment is placed for the purpose of attaining immortality (https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Horcrux <https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Horcrux>). Not a very useful term, given the rarity of soul fragmentation, but here is one example from outside that universe where the word is apt:
