The OED is seeking antedatings of entries between M and R:

Here's a further antedating, in an 1851 letter published in 1852:

The Lancet
No. 1479, January 3, 1852, p1-31
"On Healthy and Morbid Menstruation, by J. Henry Bennet M.D."
page 36:

"Menstruation generally ceases between forty-five and fifty, but the
menopause may occur much earlier or much later."

Letter signed off: "Cambridge-square, Hyde-park, 1851"
