[Ads-l] aerate - epenthetic vowel

In series nine of “The Great British Bake Off,” Paul Hollywood pronounced “aerate” with an extra vowel after the r at least three times: 'er i eit. He says it distinctly. One such instance was in the finale episode during the judging. 

I don’t see this pronunciation on the OED, Lexico, or Merriam-Webster.
