The author, James K. Glassman, wrote that he had “decided to coin a term: "Zohnerism," defined as the use of a true fact to lead a scientifically and mathematically ignorant public to a false conclusion.” He failed to mention his own prominence as a Zohnerist, especially in his many arguments against the science of climate change. He has also been criticized for practicing “journo-lobbying” by writing a large number of seemingly independent opinion columns that align closely with the interests of his lobbying clients.
