[Ads-l] Barry Popik?

Actually, I really have no idea how LinkedIn works or doesn't work. For a person like myself who is obsessed with book promotion, I really should learn something about social media. (The weirdest incident in my long history of avoiding social media is that the New York Times once made some vacuous comment by me about Twitter as their "Quotation of the Day" despite the fact that there are 5-year-olds who know more about Twitter than I do.)

Obviously this is the Barry Popik who is "the restless genius of American etymology." Note that Barry lived for a while in Texas, not Arizona. As for the technical degree from RPI, are economics and management technical fields ? Barry's Wikipedia article indicates that those were his majors in college. I am almost completely ignorant about LinkedIn, but I assume it generates connection requests automatically.

Barry's amazing website, barrypopik.com, was a tremendously helpful source of information for the just-published New Yale Book of Quotations.
