double-header (OED, 3., 1896)

1893 _St. Louis Post-Dispatch_ 7 Aug. 8/2 (Newspapers.com)  The Browns and St. Louis played a double-header in the presence of the biggest croowd that ever gathered in the Cincinnati grounds.
