The OED's first use for the word herstory is from a 1970 book.  The following citation is also from 1970, but published earlier in the year than the book:

1970 Robin Morgan in Madison Kaleidoscope 1 Mar. 10 (JSTOR)  WITCH -- Women Inspired to Create Herstory.
